Nursery 2020 - 2021
Queensgate Nursery is a happy and friendly place with play at the heart of the curriculum, where children can learn in a safe, secure and caring environment. All children are special with unique strengths and abilities and through a variety of teaching methods we endeavour to develop these skills, as well as encouraging independence, self confidence and curiosity in the world around them.
Children can join Queensgate Nursery the term after their 3rd Birthday.
The classroom provides a variety of continuous provision activites - often linked to a theme. These include a role play area, creative area, tactile table, maths area, construction area, writing table, sand and water, ICT and book corner. The children also have free access to an outside play area and a Forest School area, as well as use of the school library and PE facilities.
We offer 15 hours over two and half days or 30 hours fulltime places. We do try to be flexible to meet the needs of working parents and additional sessions can be booked on request. The Nursery children are also able to access the wrap around care facilities the school offers, Larks and Owls, which is very popular with our Nursery children.
You do not need to live in the catchment area to attend Queensgate Nursery. Whilst a high proportion of children do move into Reception, a number of children move to other local Primary Schools, with whom we have close contact. We aim to work together to make the transition to Reception as smooth as possible for both you and your child.
Please feel free to make an appointment to come and see us!
